Mehmet Efe kızanları ile imam, çoban kılığına girip köylüden keselerle altınlar toplarlar. Hapise girer. Rüyasında; gördüğü kırk kuyudan kurtulur, kırkbirinci kuyuya düşer, boğulur.
Kendisine yapılan çağrı ile; Aydın Hükümet Konağı‘nın önünden atı ile geçer.
Mehmed Efe’nin annesi evde yün eğirirken gelen Hasan Çavuş, Mehmed’i aramaktadır. Silahı ile anneyi taciz eder.

Köydeki evini basan Osmanlı Paşa’sının ekibini, içine yastık, taş doldurdukları çuvalları dereye atarak kandırırlar ve kaçarlar. Evi ateşe verilir.
Sonunda vuruşmada vurulunca kızanları tarafından başı ve elleri kesilen Çakırcalı’nın cesedi Nazilli Meydanı’nda ayaklarından asılır.
