Young, tall and thin Yaşar Kemal wanders around the Toros villages in southern Anatolia and compiles women's laments. He writes his notes on a crumpled yellow paper. Un berceau sur un chameau migrant des hauts plateaux du Taurus s’est trouvé coincé dans une branche, un oiseau de proie creva l'œil du bébé. Le désespoir de la mère, à qui il est traditionnellement interdit de parler de cet incident, dans l’impossibilité de le raconter. La Complainte du Bébé.
