Mahmud Han has Ahmed and Sofi thrown into the palace dungeon. They play their flute in the dungeon and feed partridges. Hearing the sound of the flute, Mahmud Khan's daughter, Gulbahar, falls in love with Ahmed and wants to save him. She asks Chief Prisoner Memo to let her in.
Gülbahar asks for help from Demirci, Hüso and the Caravan Sheikh to save Ahmed and Sofi from execution. As the caravans pass, they leave a bowl of money, and the Caravan Sheikh distributes it to the poor. Ahmedi Hani’s Tomb is depicted, where Gülbahar goes and prays.
The meeting of Ahmed and Gülbahar. In exchange of a lock of Gülbahar’s hair, with whom Memo is secretly in love, the head guardian takes Ahmed and Sofi out of the dungeon. He then jumps out of the castle and commits suicide. When people learn that Gülbahar has been thrown into the dungeon, they march to the palace and secure Gülbahar out of the dungeon.
Ahmed and Gülbahar take shelter in the leader lord of Hoşap Castle. There, Ahmed places a sword between him and Gülbahar at night. Gülbahar cannot understand this.
Mahmut Han agrees to let Gulbahar marry Ahmed if he lights a fire on Ararat’s apex for three days. There is a legend that the fire at Mount Ararat’s apex is connected with the fire at the center of the earth, and that Ararat turns those who access the fire into stone. The people wait for the fire that Ahmed will light. Having lit the fire, Ahmed takes Gülbahar and brings her to Küp Lake. He asks Gulbahar, "Did you give a strand of your hair to Chief Prisoner Memo to get me out of prison?" After Gulbahar confirms, Ahmed commits suicide by throwing himself into Küp Lake.
