Zulmün Artsın – Increase Your Oppression

Kitabın içinde söz edilen Seferberlik Kilimi'ne (Ali’nin Gidişi) ithafen Yaşar Kemal’in kilimi oluşturuldu.

Çevrede; Yaşar Kemal çalışmaları için tasarladığım kilim deseni ve Yaşar Kemal logosu ortada. İçeride; kuş, geyik, at çizimlerinden stilize bir kilim deseni. Ve nar ağacından stilize hayat ağaçları, çiçekli. Dalların boynu eğik, yolculananların hüznünden ötürü.

(Yaşar Kemal kiliminin siyah beyaz eskizi, Van’da kilim dokuyan yöre kadınlarına gönderildi. Yörenin bitkilerinden elde edilen kök boyları ile boyanan iplerle dokudular.)

The artist designed a "Yaşar Kemal rug", in dedication to the rugs woven by women who were left behind when their lovers went to fight in wars. These rugs typically had themes of sadness depicted on them, often through symbolisms such as withering flowers. Such a rug, called the Mobilization Rug, was also mentioned in the book.

The rug pattern the artist designed for Yaşar Kemal's works is visibly closeby. The logo of Yasar Kemal is in the center of the rug. On the rug are stylized rug patterns with bird, deer and horse drawings. And flowering trees of life, stylized from pomegranate trees. The branches are bowed down, symbolizing the sadness of those departing.

(The black and white sketch of the Yaşar Kemal rug was sent to the local women who weave rugs in Van. They wove it with threads dyed with root madder obtained from local plants.)
